Radiofassung der Klanginstallation im Deutschen Pavillon
Klanginstallation aus sechs 8-Kanal-Kompositionen für die Trillerpfeife

Politik erfordert emotionale Intelligenz. Wie gestaltet sich diese? In der Klanginstallation tribute to whistle teilen sich sechs musikalische Kompositionen mit ihren klar unterschiedenen Eigenheiten einen Raum und schaffen Momente der Sozialität, indem sie sich in unterschiedlicher Intensität überschneiden, überlagern, kollidieren, verschmelzen und voneinander lossagen. Keine der Kompositionen bestimmt die anderen, noch gibt es eine übergeordnete Synchronisation der Stücke. Während zeitweise – und wiederum unkontrolliert – Phasen der Stille zwischen den Stücken herrschen, akkumulieren sich die Sounds an anderer Stelle zu plötzlicher Dichte. Jede Komposition entfaltet eine einzigartige Dreidimensionalität, indem das Ensemble ihrer jeweils acht Lautsprecher speziell arrangiert ist. Visuell sind die sechs 8er-Ensembles identifizierbar, indem man die verschiedenfarbigen Kabel verfolgt. Das maßgebliche, oft ausschließliche Instrument der Stücke ist die Trillerpfeife.

Radio version of the sound installation at the German Pavilion
Sound installation for six 8-channel pieces for whistle

Politics needs emotional intelligence. How does it take shape?
In the sound installation tribute to whistle six musical pieces with their distinct subjectivities share a space to perpetually form a sociality as they overlap, intersect, collide and merge in different intensities. None of them is in full control, nor is there a timer synchronising them. While at moments silences occur between them – equally uncontrollable – at other moments the sound accumulates to a sudden density. Each piece unfolds a unique three-dimensionality in the space, as the ensemble of their eight speakers is arranged in a distinct way. Visually each ensemble can be traced by following the diverging cables. The dominant, often sole instrument of the pieces is the whistle.
