On the preview day of Frieze Seoul, Pace Gallery reports sales highlights including:
A rarely-seen 8” Alexander Calder sculpture from 1965, as well as a work on paper by the artist from 1975.

A 2023 painting by Yoshitomo Nara. The artist is currently the subject of a solo exhibition at Pace’s Seoul gallery. Yoshitomo Nara: Ceramic Works presents some 140 ceramics and 30 drawings on paper and cardboardalong with selected items from the artist’s personal collection.

A 2023 acrylic painting on canvas from Japanese artist Kenjiro Okazaki. Lee Kun-Yong’s painting Bodyscape 76-1-2023 (2023) for $250,000 USD (317,000,000 KRW) The artist is currently prominently featured in New York in the Guggenheim’s exhibition Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea, 1960s1970s.

A new Joel Shapiro sculpture (2023) for $175,000 USD (233,000,000 KRW). A 2014 painting by Chinese artist Qiu Xiaofei for $160,000 USD (213,000,000). A 2023 painting by Robert Nava for $150,000 USD (201,000,000 KRW).

The artist’s concurrent exhibition Tornado Rose at Pace’s Seoul gallery marks his first solo exhibition in Asia. A 6ft Kylie Manning painting for $80,000 USD (107,000,000 KRW). A recent cyanotype print by Kiki Smith for $20,000 USD (27,000,000 KRW)

[1]  A second 2023 painting by Yoshitomo Nara. / The artist is currently the subject of a solo exhibition at Pace’s Seoul gallery. Yoshitomo Nara: Ceramic Works presents some 140 ceramics and 30 drawings on paper and cardboardalong with selected items from the artist’s personal collection.

[2] Lee Kun-Yong's painting Bodyscape 76-1-2021 (2021) for $140,000 USD (189,000,000 KRW), as well as Bodyscape 76-3-2023 (2023) for $75,000 USD (101,000,000 KRW). The artist is currently prominently featured in New York in the Guggenheim’s exhibition Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea, 1960s1970s.

[3] A 6ft painting by Matthew Day Jackson for $185,000 USD (250,000,000 KRW). A painting from Kohei Nawa for $36,000 USD (48,207,620 KRW). A second recent cyanotype print by Kiki Smith for $20,000 USD (27,000,000 KRW). A painting by Cuban artist Alejandro Piñeiro Bello for $25,000 USD (33,476,691 KRW). Two works on paper from Torkwase Dyson for $11,000 USD (14,729,744 KRW).
